Kg. Seri Minyak , 10 November 2016 Mangrove Tree Planting Program With Students of Saad Foundation Organized by Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata) telecommunications company with JKKK Village Cooperation and Malacca Forest Department JKKK Cooperation was held at KM 15, Anjung Batu, Kg. Oil Series, Umbai, Merlimau Melaka. The program is attended by ninety-seven (97) Form 4 students, Yayasan Saad College, thirty (30) villagers and twenty (20) staff members of the Melaka State Forestry Department. The program was officiated by the Melaka State Agricultural Entrepreneur and Development Exco, Datuk Hasan Abd. Rahman and was attended by the honorable Sultanate of Malacca .. The objective of this program is to explore strategies to develop a community of livelihoods through biodiversity conservation, self-reliance and volunteerism in society and to analyze the importance, threats and solutions to the challenges faced by the community. The program was focused on the planting of 1,500 Bakau Minyak trees by participants in two locations, namely the entrance to Kg. Oil Series and mangrove plantation area, which is the coast of Anjung Batu jetty. Activities continued with area clearing and presentation of students to Kg. Oil Series. Overall, through this program students can explore their potential, raise awareness in social challenges, and master communication competencies, creative thinking, critical and emotional intelligence

Ayer Keroh, 22 September 2016 The Sarawak Community Science Travel Program to the Melaka State Forestry Department was held at several venues, namely Karas Crop Project, Jasin, Malacca and Kelulut Livestock Project, Ayer Keroh Botanical Garden, Melaka. This visit is a journey of knowledge to expose and open the minds of the community on various community development projects that have been successfully implemented in the states of Peninsular Malaysia. The State of Melaka is the third state of the visit to be held after the state of Perak and Selangor. This visit is also one of the social forestry cooperation programs between the Sarawak Forest Department and the Malacca Forestry Department. A total of thirty (30) participants, ten (10) Escort Officers from the Sarawak Forest Department and ten (10) secretariats from the Melaka State Forestry Department were involved in the program from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on the day. The program started with a briefing by En. Zulkifli Bin Mukni, Assistant Investigation Officer of the Malacca Forestry Department. The program was continued with a visit to the karas farm in Jasin, Melaka and ended with a visit to Kelulut Livestock Project, Melaka Botanical Garden, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. In conclusion, this program can give an idea to the Sarawak Forest Department in drafting a planning plan through the RMK-11 allocation to implement and implement community-based projects on the development and management of forest resources.
